Yin Yang
A harmonious blend of invigorating yang movement and deeply restorative yin postures designed to balance your energy, release stress, and prepare your body and mind for a calm, intentional weekend. Held on Friday evenings, this class helps you transition smoothly from the busy workweek into restful rejuvenation.
Yin Yang
Yin Yang at Rudrakshaa Yogashala is the sacred pause, a space where opposites unite, where movement meets stillness, and where the wisdom of both effort and surrender is honoured. This class becomes a meditative dance between the dynamic and the quiet, the energised and the restful.
The class begins with Yang-inspired sequences — flowing, breath-led movements that build heat (tapas), activate circulation, and awaken strength in the muscles and mind. These asanas cultivate internal rhythm and focus, gently mobilising energy and preparing the body to release what it no longer needs. Rooted in Haṭha Yoga and inspired by the rhythms of Āyurveda, the active phase supports detoxification, builds resilience, and centres the body through graceful movement.
As the session progresses, we transition into Yin — a quieter, deeply introspective space. Here, postures are held for longer durations, supported by props and guided breath, encouraging the fascia to unwind and the nervous system to reset. In this stillness, we access the parasympathetic state — allowing cortisol levels to lower, joints to decompress, and internal awareness to deepen. It’s a space of emotional release, mental clarity, and gentle self-inquiry.
Balancing Stillness and Movement
The union of these two polarities — Śakti (dynamic life force) and Śānti (peace) — allows us to recalibrate from the inside out. With each breath, the body softens; with each posture, we meet a new layer of ourselves. The practice becomes not just physical, but energetic and spiritual, offering a true return to balance.
Designed especially for Friday evenings, this class marks a conscious transition from the demands of the week to a space of rest, reflection, and renewal. It invites you to move consciously, breathe deeply, and arrive fully — in body, breath, and awareness.
Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, Yin Yang is a grounding and transformative experience that reconnects you to your natural rhythms, and brings clarity to both movement and stillness. With a focus on prāṇāyāma, mindful movement, and meditative rest, this class is a sanctuary where you can realign — physically, mentally, and energetically.
